Matthew Porett
As senior vice president of Avenet Web Solutions, Matthew Porett was chartered with keeping their leading edge use of technology in alignment with business and consumer needs. Avenet is a national leader in delivering state-of-the-art web solutions for government, healthcare, education and the nonprofit/advocacy sectors. While at Avenet, he led the development of a leading edge personal health portfolio system, myHealthfolio in partnership with Microsoft’s HealthVault.
Matthew was chief information officer for the State of Minnesota’s Department of Employment and Economic Development (DEED). He oversaw the logical and technical infrastructure merger and relocation of Department of Trade and Economic Development and the Department of Economic Security (forming DEED). He provided technical oversight to the re-engineering of the Minnesota Unemployment Insurance Program. Matthew served as grant administrator for $6 million in annual grants from the United States Department of Labor (USDOL) to develop, maintain and host the USDOL’s CareerOneStop suite of electronic tools and services.
Matthew has also served as vice president of Digital Imagery, Ltd., a consulting firm specializing in medically relevant exhibit systems for the pharmaceutical industry. He is a policy fellow at the University of Minnesota’s Humphrey Institute and a graduate of Albright College (B.A.) and Lehigh University (M.A.) in Pennsylvania.
