Denise Anderson is the Chief Financial Officer for the Minnesota Department of Education. She is responsible for providing leadership and oversight of the financial, administrative, budget and risk management functions.
Denise comes to the department with extensive experience in state government financial leadership, and has been a part-time lecturer at the University of Minnesota-Carlson School of Management, teaching undergraduate and graduate introductory financial accounting courses.
She holds a Certified Public Accountant (CPA)—inactive certificate, and earned a master’s degree in finance and a bachelor’s degree in accounting, both from the University of Minnesota, Carlson School of Management.
Denise currently serves as a governor’s appointee on Minnesota’s Investment Advisory Council (IAC). She also serves as the commissioner’s appointee on the Teacher’s Retirement Association Board of Trustees.
