Homebound Service Indicator, MARSS University 105

Date: October 6, 2020

Time: 9-10 a.m.

Description: Minnesota Department of Education (MDE) receives many questions regarding the correct reporting of students that are homebound. Several divisions at MDE collaborated to develop a comprehensive Minnesota Automated Reporting Student Services (MARSS) Data Element definition that answers these questions. The Homebound Service Indicator data element in MARSS will be discussed.

The Homebound Service Indicator is used to validate Membership Days for students who have no Attendance Days. It is an indication of whether students were medically confined to their home and received instruction in the home during the enrollment period.
