CACFP Basic Training

Description: This live, four hour workshop provides basic information on the Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP). A certificate of attendance will be provided after the workshop.
- Meal patterns and menu planning
- Creditable and non-creditable foods
- Food production
- Point-of-service meal counts
- Vended meal contracts
- Special diets
Target audience: This training applies to child care centers, adult care centers, and emergency shelters. It does not include information for sponsors who only operate the At-Risk Afterschool Meal Program. The following individuals will benefit from the training:
- New center directors
- New CACFP coordinators
- New cooks or food service directors
- Any staff person new to CACFP (in last three years) involved with the topics listed above
- Anyone who would like a refresher on CACFP
