Description: This two-day workshop will help coaches, peer reviewers and evaluators increase their skills by refining current practices, tools and strategies to increase teacher growth and student learning. We will start with individual observer roles, dispositions and behaviors, then move to the critical features of an observation process that uses specific techniques and tools to help build the capacity of observers. Participants will learn how to: maximize individual teacher strengths; scaffold post-observation conferences based on evidence; hone techniques to help with difficult conversations; and, align individual growth and development plans to school goals. Participant teams will analyze their current rubrics before using them during mock observation processes to practice collecting and scoring data and frame instructional feedback.
