Resources for Funded Programs

This page includes important resources for school districts and charter schools receiving voluntary prekindergarten (VPK) or school readiness plus (SRP) funding. The resources are designed to support the implementation of the VPK/SRP nationally recognized high-quality early learning program standards.

The following webinars provide 15-minute overviews of VPK/SRP program information. The webinars are organized by themes to provide information that is easily accessed as an initial introduction to the requirements, and are also available as an ongoing resource for those charged with the implementation of program requirements. In addition, refer to the Voluntary Pre-K and School Readiness Plus Implementation Guidance (available in the Guidance and Resource Documents section, below) for more detailed program information.

Application Process for Fiscal Year 2021 Funding
The application period for fiscal year (FY) 2021 (school year 2020-21) VPK/SRP funding was conducted in January 2020 and open to all school districts and charter schools. Sites that received first-time funding in FY18, FY19, and FY20 will be funded through FY21, but pending legislative changes, not beyond. Sites funded first in FY17 will receive continued funding for the number of students approved in FY17. Minnesota law requires that all applications are received at the Minnesota Department of Education by January 30, 2020. All districts and charter schools, regardless of previous funding status, needed to apply to be considered for funding in the 2020-21 school year. Districts and charter schools will be notified of their funding status after the spring 2020 legislative session.
