Webinars for Educators

Schools are community hubs for children and families. Our work to support districts and schools as they navigate the 2020-21 school year includes a focus on the needs of students and families in communities of color, as well as indigenous, immigrant, low-income families and communities, and students with disabilities and their families. These historically underserved groups have been disproportionately impacted by the disruption in learning during this challenging time created by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Teaching and Learning Led by Evidence

As we all head into a school year that will look different than any previous year we have experienced, this webinar series is for teachers and school leaders to sharpen their skills and fluency around using evidence of student learning to support student-centered instruction.

These webinars are designed for teachers, principals, instructional leaders, curriculum directors, and any school leader who would like support in turning student learning data into action that drives instructional decisions. Each session will engage participants in making sense of their data so that it can be used to build trust and collaboration. Each session also emphasizes building fluency in using assessment and data as a set of tools to increase awareness of what students know and can do, and to close gaps in instruction and learning, especially during this unprecedented time in education.

Participants will gain:

  • A vision for assessment systems and data use cycles that put students and equity at the center.
  • A framework to facilitate purposeful conversations around data use with staff.
  • A process for improving teacher-designed assessments that elicit relevant information about what students know and can do.
