School climate improvement is an evidence-based practice that fosters student engagement and school connectedness. It is also the most effective way to support student learning by preventing disruptive behaviors such as bullying and harassment. During the school climate improvement webinars, the School Safety Technical Assistance Center staff and partners will provide superintendents, district and school leaders with information on how they can best lead and support school climate improvement efforts. The webinars will also highlight effective practices that work to improve school climate outcomes.
The center launched the series on Sept. 26, 2018, with the webinar An Overview of School Climate Best Practices. If you missed this webinar, don’t worry. We will post a recording of the webinar as soon as it becomes available.
Best Practices to Improve School Climate Tool
To help schools and school districts in efforts to improve school climate, the School Safety Technical Assistance Center developed the Best Practices to Improve School Climate Guide. To be most effective, we recommend that schools and school districts use this tool as part of a comprehensive school climate improvement process. Use the Best Practices to Improve School Climate Guide.
