A 2020 public opinion poll from the Minnesota Governor’s Council on Developmental Disabilities, regarding attitudes Minnesotans hold toward persons with developmental disabilities, showed improved attitudes about supporting families, school inclusion and the right to vote in the last 58 years. Person-Centered and Positive Behavior Support PracticesPerson-centered practices are a way of assuring that people with disabilities have the same rights and responsibilities as other people, including having control over their lives, making their own choices and contributing to the community in a way that makes sense to the person. Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) implementation is a state-initiated project identified in Minnesota's Olmstead Plan as a strategy for increasing the percentage of students with disabilities receiving education in the most integrated setting.
