Purchase Methods
Regulations and Minnesota State Statutes. In addition, there may be locally established purchase thresholds. The five methods can be broken down into formal and informal methods. Formal methods are required for purchases over $175,000 for public entities and $250,000 for non-public entities.
Regulations in 2 CFR 200.319 require that solicitations include clear and accurate description of the requirements for the product and/or service to be procured. Resources to help develop specification are also found on this page.
