If you believe that a charter school or authorizer has violated a requirement of state charter school law (Minnesota Statutes, Chapter 124E), you may file a complaint with the Minnesota Department of Education (MDE) Charter Center. When MDE receives a complaint, information from the complaint form may be used to investigate the situation. The information contained in the complaint generally is considered public information unless it is classified by law as private information, such as data about individual students. In addition, the identity of the complainant may be classified as private if the complainant is an employee reporting a violation, suspected violation, or planned violation of state or federal law, or if a law classifies their identity as private.
